The ship will serve the Huangpu River ferry route. The pure electric propulsion system was delivered on September 5, 2023, and the ship was successfully launched on November 8, 2023. The system was integrated by Institute 712, and the electric thrusters use rim driven thrusters provided by Guangzhou HG. This marks that the ferry is equipped with the world's latest generation of ship electric propulsion system.

The "Shanghai Ferry 11" is 27 meters long, with a beam of 10.6 meters, a depth of 2.4 meters, and a draft of 1.6 meters, suitable for inland river Class B navigation areas. The vessel is equipped with a high-safety-standard pure battery power system, featuring a battery capacity of 3131 kWh and twin 200 kW propulsion units, allowing a maximum speed of 8.6 knots and a service speed of 7.6 knots.
The pure battery power system of the "Shanghai Ferry 11" uses a propulsion solution provided by Guangzhou HG, equipped with rim driven thrusters. It features ultra-low noise, extremely high efficiency and reliability, and complete leak prevention, making the ferry more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly, and comfortable—a revolutionary innovation in the field of marine propulsion systems.
